David Copperfield on His way to School

This thick, solid wood Zag-Zaw features one of the Ludovici paintings from the Dickens Coaching series but, unlike these was manufactured for retail in Germany. It is a push-fit puzzle, without any figural pieces and was probably actually cut in Germany, the cutting style being completely different to that of the English Zag-Zaw's.
Also very worthy of mention is the superb print quality. Unlike the series editions, this is a stunning chromo print enabling you to pick out even the tiniest details.
Dating this puzzle is difficult but I would guess it pre-dates the English set, possibly being as early as pre WWI. c1913. Their company office in Berlin is understood to have been seized by the German government shortly after the start of the war.
