Tuck, Raphael & Son's Ltd

Established in London in the late 19th Century, Raphael Tuck & Sons Ltd began with printing and publishing, but went on to produce many of Britain's best wooden jigsaw puzzles, most notably the Zag-Zaw range, using very high quality prints of topical, historical and artistic interest. Puzzle sizes stretched from very small scale, right up to 2000 piece examples.

They also produced wooden puzzles under other range names, including Tippe-Toppe, Crazy-Cut and Jazz, along with various series titles and a wide array of literature to promote them. Earliest puzzle were produced on thick card, under names like Father Tuck's.

As well as their production in London, Zag-Zaw's have also been found in boxes showing Berlin, Germany as their place of origin.
