Opening Day, The

Push-fit Zag-Zaw from a painting by the British artist Gilbert Scott Wright (1880-1958), featuring over 30 whimsies, or figural shape pieces.
Very interesting advertisement inside the box-lid, promoting Tuck's Postcard Exchange Register. The advert also states Publishers by Royal Appointment in Three Reigns, showing around the outer edge the initials of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII and King George V. The similarly boxed Zag-Zaw Red Roses, carries a box inscription of 1919 which, with the Making History and Bringing Peace reference in the box-lid, perhaps indicates production date of around 1919-1920 for this puzzle, shortly after The Great War.
