Race of the Peasants, The

This magnificent 1550 piece, interlocking plywood Zag-Zaw includes 150 very fine whimsies or figural shapes and features on Page 3 of one of the Zag-Zaw catalogues.
The artwork is unusually not credited on the label, or in the catalogue but my research of the available signature leads me toward a fairly certain identification that this is the work of the popular Polish artist Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski (1849 - 1915).
