Red Roses

The box-base for this colourful floral study Zag-Zaw carries a handwritten inscription of 1919. This, combined with the reference Making History and Bringing Peace, seems to indicate that this box-lid artwork applied to puzzles produced shortly post WWI. It is cut in the push-fit, or non-interlocking style and includes 36 Whimsies, or figure shapes. The painting is unsigned, but is probably by the same artist as the very similarly-themed and proportioned Zag-Zaw Tea Roses.
