Odalisque couchée

c1960's plywood puzzle featuring a famous painting by the French Neoclassical artist Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780-1867). This study, more correctly titled la grande odalisque, portrays an anatomically elongated concubine, or harem woman and was painted in 1814, having been commissioned by Napoleon's sister, Caroline Murat. The original is held by the Musée du Louvres, Paris.
The spider-web box pattern helps to date this example to the era 1957-1970.
As with the majority of Apollo branded puzzles, cutting style closely matches that of the Royal range.
